Fashion is everywhere and always has been. It is something which transcends all cultures, religions, ethnicities and identities.

Fashion reflects one’s mood and persona. More so, it represents eras, trends and context. There is of course the aspect of comfort and practicality, but for the most part fashion whether directly or indirectly can be interpreted to determine what kind of person you are.

We remember different periods of time through fashion. Whether it be the popular slick back hair and poodle skirts from the 1950s or the trucker caps and low-rise jeans of the 2000s. Our childhood memories are full of trends which we link to different times in our lives and that is the beauty of fashion.

Fashion is unique to every person and although there are common themes and understanding about what is represents, it truly is a personal perception. There are and will always be trends within fashion but the beauty of it means that we can wear what we want how we want to create the look we want.

Not only is the fashion industry extremely lucrative, but it is open to influence by everyone and anyone. The rise of social media over recent years has given a platform to people to get involved and give their own intake on latest trends, reviews or even opinions on fashion.

There is much more to clothing than just the fabric of an item. The construction, embellishments and packaging of clothing can be used to define the brand behind it. Some brands focus on “ethical” or recycled clothing whilst others focus on a message. Our message is focused on spreading unity.
